Attention motorists, cyclists and pedestrians, Halifax Water crews will be undertaking road reinstatement work on Akerley Boulevard near the intersection of Windmill Road on Tuesday, November 5, 2019.
Hours of work will be 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM. This work will have the following traffic impacts (also see the attached work zone map):
- There will be no left turn from Magazine Hill onto Akerley Boulevard;
- No left turn from Akerley Boulevard onto Windmill Road;
- Akerley Boulevard to Windmill Road will be reduced one lane (curb lane) only;
- The inbound centre median lane of Akerley Boulevard will be closed;
- Sidewalks will remain open.
Experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site to ensure smooth traffic flow around the work zone. On-site personnel will also maintain communication with local residents and businesses to help minimize disruption. Motorists are asked to use alternate routes and expect delays. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.
There will be no loss of water, wastewater or stormwater services as a result of this work.
