Beginning on or about Monday July 15, 2019, Halifax Water will begin work to install a new sewer forcemain on Atholea Drive from Beaver Crescent to Caldwell Road (see attached map of work area).
Typical hours of work will be 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday with evenings and weekends as required. The project is scheduled for completion on August 9, 2019, weather permitting.
Some daytime water service disruptions may be needed during the course of construction. Residents will receive written notice at least 24 hours prior to any shutdown. No disruption to sewer service is anticipated.
There will be periodic traffic disruptions. One lane of traffic will remain open for local and emergency vehicle access. There will be periodic local traffic delays access when construction equipment is maneuvering. Halifax Water will have traffic control staff on site to guide you to your destination and we ask that you please follow their direction. They are there to provide safe passage for pedestrians, motorists and cyclists. Driveways will remain open during the work, except when excavation passes in front of a driveway. We will notify residents prior to the excavation blocking a driveway so vehicles can be moved if needed. If residents have the ability to leave vehicles outside of the work area during construction hours it would be appreciated, as this will help Halifax Water more efficiently complete the project.
