Joseph Howe Drive – Emergency Sewer Lateral Repair

Halifax Water wishes to advise motorists and local residents that it must complete an emergency sewer lateral repair. This work will not impact water services in the area.     
 
As a result, the following traffic controls will be in place during this repair. See the map for further details.  
 

• Beginning at 6:00 PM on Thursday, June 19 until Friday, June 20 at 7:00 AM there will be local traffic only on Joseph Howe Drive from Mumford Road to the Armdale Rotary. 
  • During this time, there will be one outbound lane open.  

• Beginning at 7:00 AM on Friday, June 20 to 4:00 PM on June 20, Joseph Howe Drive from the Mumford Road to the Armdale Rotary will be reduced to one lane each direction, with two-way traffic maintained. 

• Traffic is recommended to detour via Mumford Road. 

• Sidewalks will remain open during this repair. 

     
Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.
