From 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Saturday, May 18, Halifax Water crews will conduct stormwater system maintenance along Joesph Howe Drive, Halifax. This work will not impact Halifax Water services in the area.   

Crews will begin near 3824 Joseph Howe Drive and continue to the Joesph Howe off-ramp towards Bedford. There will be stop-and-go traffic in the work zone. Experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site to manage traffic flows. Sidewalks will remain open.  

Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.   

We apologize for any inconvenience this necessary infrastructure repair work may cause.   

Beginning the week of April 22, construction work will begin on Newton Avenue, Halifax between Chebucto Road and Quinpool Road. Impacted water service customers have been notified in advance of this work.  

Construction will take place from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on weekdays. During this work, Newton Avenue will be closed to all traffic in sections between Chebucto Road and Quinpool Road, and local traffic only on Newton Avenue. A detour will be in place. The sidewalks will remain open along one side of the road. 

This project is expected to be completed in September 2024.
