UPDATE: Water service has been restored to the area. The outbound lanes on Bayers Road between Romans Avenue and Connaught Avenue, Halifax, have reopened.
Please note a temporary asphalt surface is in place within the work area. Motorists are advised to drive with caution and reduce speed when travelling through the area.
Halifax Water crews are on-site undertaking an emergency water main repair near 6877 Bayers Road, Halifax. Water service will be temporarily shut down in this area. No estimate of service restoration time.
The outbound lanes on Bayers Road between Romans Avenue and Connaught Avenue will be open to local traffic only. Detours will be in place. Experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site to manage traffic flows. Sidewalks will remain open.

Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.
