Until approximately the end of August 2025, Dexter Construction, on behalf of Halifax Water, will complete an upgrade to the water transmission main along Chebucto Road and Connaught Avenue from Newton Avenue to Berlin Street, Halifax.
The typical hours of work will be Monday to Friday 9:00 AM to 9:30 PM.
Nightwork for this project is tentatively scheduled to begin on July 14, 2025 and will last approximately two weeks. During this time work will take place between 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM Sunday to Thursday. Halifax Water will provide advance notice of this work.
During this project, the following traffic control will be in place:
- Alternating lane closures inbound on Connaught Avenue between Berlin Street and Chebucto Road.
- Alternating lane closures outbound on Connaught Avenue at Berlin Street.
- Sidewalks in the work zone will be closed. Pedestrian traffic will be diverted to the opposite side of the street.

Experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site to manage traffic flows.
Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.
