Beginning Thursday, August 6, and continuing until approximately August 13, Eastward Energy will be completed the necessary gas main relocation to accommodate stormwater upgrades planned on College Street.
Beginning as early as Monday, August 17 and continuing until approximately the end of December 2026, Harbour Construction, on behalf of Halifax Water, will complete water and stormwater upgrades on College Street, Halifax.
The typical hours of work will be Monday to Friday 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
During this work, the following traffic control will be in place:
- College Street will be open to local traffic only, between Cathedral Lane and Summer Street.
- A detour will be in place.
- Sidewalks will remain open via alternate routing
Experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site to manage traffic flows.
Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.
