Beginning tonight, Friday, November 14th at 7:00 PM and continuing until 7:00 AM on Saturday, November 15th and Saturday, November 15th at 7:00 PM to Sunday, November 16th at 7:00 AM, the following traffic impacts will be in place for wastewater system maintenance:

  • The Armdale Rotary will be reduced to one lane.
  • Access to Herring Cove Road from the Armdale Rotary will be reduced to one lane in both directions; two-way traffic will be maintained.
  • There will be a lane reduction on Herring Cove Road between Chocolate Lake Road and Windermere Road. Two-way traffic will be maintained.

This work will not impact Halifax Water services in the area.

Clean Water Works, on behalf of Halifax Water, will undertake preparation work for upcoming wastewater system maintenance using cure-in-place-pipe (CIPP) trenchless lining technology.

CIPP lining involves reinforcing the inside of ageing underground pipes with a fabric liner that is saturated with resin and then cured using UV light or steam. This process is significantly less intrusive to traffic than traditional open-trench excavations for pipe replacement work that would otherwise need to be done.

Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.

We apologize for any inconvenience this necessary infrastructure improvement preparation work may cause.

To ensure the safety of our communities and our staff, please maintain a safe distance when Halifax Water staff or contractors are working in your area.
