Traffic Advisory – Silverside Drive

This work is expected to last approximately four to six weeks.
Published: 2:40 PM | April 6, 2023

Beginning the week of April 10, Nova Scotia Power will be working to install new power poles and lines to support upgrades to a Halifax Water booster station on Silverside Drive, Waverley.

This work is expected to last approximately four to six weeks. Typical hours of work will be weekdays from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

This work will require rolling stop-and-go traffic in this area. Tree trimming and rock-breaking work will take place as needed to install the new power poles.

Nova Scotia Power will contact customers via automated phone calls for any planned power outages related to this work. Halifax Water would like to remind water service customers that during power outages, water service will be interrupted in your area.

Once this project is complete, the booster station that provides water service to this community will have a backup power supply (generator) that will come online during power outages, adding resilience and reliability to water service in this area.

Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.

We apologize for any inconvenience this necessary infrastructure repair work may cause.

To ensure the safety of our communities and our staff, please maintain a safe distance when Halifax Water staff or contractors are working in your area.
