Traffic Advisory – Windmill Road
Beginning Monday, November 24 and continuing until approximately Friday, December 5, WSP on behalf of Halifax Water will be performing geotechnical investigation work on Windmill Road between Dawn Drive and Nootka Avenue, Dartmouth. This work will not impact Halifax Water services in the area.
This work will take place between 6:00 PM and 7:00 AM on weekdays and weekends for the duration of this work.
There will be rolling lane reductions in the work zone. Two-way traffic will be maintained. Experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site to manage traffic flows. Sidewalks will remain open.
Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.
Mandatory Water Conservation Measures Remain in Effect
November 6, 2025 - Mandatory Restrictions Status Update
Rainfall over the past couple of weeks has been beneficial, but it is not yet enough to lift water restrictions.
- Lake Major remains under mandatory restrictions.
- Pockwock Lake is still under voluntary restrictions.
While additional rainfall is forecasted, current conditions require continued conservation efforts. Please continue to follow water conservation guidelines to help protect our water supply. Every drop counts!

Since the mandatory Stage 1 water restrictions were implemented for the Lake Major supply area on September 10, Halifax Water has seen a 9% decline in overall consumption.
