North West Arm (Chebucto Road) – Wastewater System Repair was Completed

Halifax Water has successfully repaired the wastewater pipe on Chebucto Road, Halifax. The wastewater system for this area has returned to normal operations since 11:00 PM today.   
 
We want to thank the residents for adopting measures to help reduce their contribution to the wastewater system and support Halifax Water’s mitigation efforts. We appreciated your assistance and apologize for any inconvenience this wastewater system repair may have caused.   
 
Surface restoration will continue overnight on Chebucto Road. Should further work be required to finalize surface restorations Halifax Water will provide an update on Monday as to when this work will take place. Motorists are advised to drive with caution in the area.

Boil Water Advisory Lifted - Pockwock Service Area

Halifax Water is advising residential and commercial customers that the boil water advisory issued at 6:00 pm on Monday, July 1, has been lifted effective immediately. This is for all customers serviced by the JD Kline (Pockwock) water treatment facility in Beaver Bank, Middle and Lower Sackville, Hammonds Plains, Halifax, Bedford, Timberlea, Spryfield, portions of Fall River, Waverley and Herring Cove. (see map). 

 

The water will be safe for consumption and use after impacted customers complete the following steps:

Harvey Street – Water Main Repair

Halifax Water crews are on-site undertaking an emergency water main repair near 15 Harvey Street, Dartmouth. Water service will be temporarily shut down in this area. No estimate of service restoration time.  

Harvey Street will be open to local traffic only. Experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site to manage traffic flows. 

Customers in the area may experience discoloured water during/following this repair. It is recommended that those customers run the COLD water at one faucet until the water runs clear. To learn more about discoloured water and to report it, please visit www.halifaxwater.ca/discoloured-water.
